First Invasion:
(1303):
In 1303, the general of
Allauddin Khilji, Malik Fakruddin attacked the Kakatiya forces at Upparapalli( Karimnagar) and were
defeated.
Second Invasion:
(1309):
In 1309,
Malik Kafur, the general of Allauddin
Khilji began his attack against the Kakatiya forces. The Kakatiyas were finally defeated on 19th March 1310 and
Prataparudra agreed to pay annual tributes to the Sultan of Delhi.
Third Invasion:
(1317-18):
After
the death of Allauddin Khilji in 1316, Prataparudra did not
pay annual tributes to the Sultan of Delhi. In 1318, Qutubuddin Mubarak Khilji came to the throne of Delhi and sent Khusrau Khan to demand the payment of
annual tribute due to the Delhi Sultan.
At that
time Prataparudra was engaged in a war with the Kampili
ruler, KumaraRaja, therefore paid the
arrears of tribute.
Fourth
Invasion:
In 1320,
the Tughlaks were replaced the Khiljis at Delhi. Mean while, Prataparudra again stopped paying tributes to the Sultan of
Delhi. In 1321, the Delhi Sultan, Ghisuddin Tughlak sent his son Ulugh Khan (Zuna Khan) to attack
against Kakatiya forces. But the Delhi
forces suffered heavy losses and left to
Devagiri.
Fifth
Invasion:
Zuna Khan again attacked on Warangal in 1323 and defeated the Kakatiya forces.
Prataparudra and his family were taken as prisoners and sent to Delhi. On the
way to Delhi, Prataparudra committed suicide on the banks of Narmada River.
